Expo Icon, Italian cities
2012

Here is a stalactite, a cave at the centre of the planet, a column in Milan Cathedral, a spacecraft from outer space, a beachshade, a bunch of flowers. Above all, this is the Expo symbol, a direct reference to the theme of food and its distribution across the planet.
Made of jute pallets and sacks, it suggersts the transportation of goods in the ancient and modern world, where sustenance and staple foods must be efficiently and fairly distributable. These three elements support each other in turn and one cannot do without the other, as must be the attitude of humankind in a progressive and civilised society.
